Mario & Luigi: Brothership Launches On Nintendo Switch Today

Thursday, 7. November 2024
The brotherly bond of Mario and Luigi takes centre stage in this brand-new adventure on the high seas, featuring a dynamic twist on turn-based combat.

The brothers return in an island-hopping RPG adventure and set sail on the high seas as they explore islands, experience action-packed encounters and tackle turn-based combat in the first brand-new adventure in the Mario & Luigi RPG series since 2015.

Originally unified under the mighty Uni-Tree, the world of Concordia now lies fractured into many scattered islands. After arriving unexpectedly, Mario and Luigi set out to reconnect the islands and track down the cause of the disaster. Together they visit, explore and quest through a variety of different islands, ranging from tropical rainforests to bustling cities. Over the course of their journey, the two brothers will meet helpful new friends like Connie and Snoutlet (who is definitely not a pig) and encounter familiar characters from the Mushroom Kingdom like Peach, Bowser and more.

To reconnect Concordia, players will need to harness the power of Mario and Luigi’s brotherly bond. In a dynamic twist on turn-based combat, where well-timed attacks, dodges, and counterattacks are key to defeating foes, players can take advantage of powerful Bros. Attacks to dish out double-team damage.

While exploring the many different islands, Mario and Luigi can also use Bros. Moves as each one provides unique abilities like combining into a ball to overcome challenges and bypass obstacles. Luigi Logic can also lend a helping hand during exploration and boss battles alike. While his bursts of inspiration can be unconventional at times, they will help Mario with solving puzzles, collecting items and dealing big damage to even bigger baddies.

Sailing around the currents of Concordia’s seas, players can craft and equip Battle Plugs that grant Mario and Luigi strategic advantages like creating a shockwave to damage multiple enemies or guaranteed critical hits against flying enemies. Experimenting with layering different effects can create creative combinations that boost attacks, beef up their defences and more.
