One console, three modes
TV mode
Using the included Nintendo Switch dock, you can hook the console up to a TV so everyone can get in to the game. There are experiences that, while they don’t require a big screen, are just that little bit more immersive when played on a TV, be it with friends, family, or solo!
If you fancy bringing the open-air adventure of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to the big screen, exploring a huge city in LEGO® CITY Undercover, getting down together in the comfort of your living room in Just Dance 2017 or engaging in polite fisticuffs with a friend in ARMS, then give TV mode a try!
Tabletop mode
Don’t have access to your TV? Don’t worry about it! Nintendo Switch’s stand can be used at any time, letting you play games on the console screen. Simply hand a Joy-Con to a friend, and play together right on the spot.
Even when you’re out and about, if you feel like solving some papery puzzles with a friend in Snipperclips – Cut it out, together!, taking to the track in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, battling it out with up to eight players* in Super Bomberman R or becoming the talk of the party in 1-2-Switch, tabletop mode lets you play together, no matter where you are!
Handheld mode
It’s the same gaming experience as you’d get on your TV, right there in your hands, meaning that even if you’re away from home, you can keep playing your favourite games on the go! You can even wirelessly link up to eight Nintendo Switch consoles together, letting you play multiplayer with others*.
If your heart’s set on racing on the bus at serious speeds in FAST RMX, pulling off combos in the backseat of the car in ULTRA STREET FIGHTER II: The Final Challengers, puzzling it out on a train in Puyo Puyo™ Tetris® or challenging your friends to a local multiplayer* turf war in Splatoon 2, then handheld mode is the way to go!
*Offline play requires one compatible controller per player. Additional controllers (sold separately) may be required. Local Play requires one copy of the software per player.
