Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo Won’t Connect to the Internet

Steps for when Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo fails to connect to the internet or can’t find your wireless network.

Before you start:

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo device
  • Your wireless network ID and password

Possible Solutions:

Wireless Network Not Found

  1. Press the Back Button and search for access points again.
  2. Power cycle your home network, then search again.
  3. Move Alarmo closer to the wireless router.
    • If this resolves your issue, it may be the case that Alarmo is unable to connect because it’s too far from the router. An internet connection is not needed to access most functions of the device, so you can bring Alarmo closer to the router when you need to perform functions that require access to the internet.

Connection Attempt Failing

  1. Check your network password and confirm you’re entering it accurately.
  2. Check that Alarmo is running the most recent system update.
    • Not on most current system update but can’t connect to download it.
      • Attempt to connect Alarmo to a hotspot connection with your smart device and wireless plan’s data network. Once connected, perform the system update. Once updated, try connecting to your home network again.
      • Please note that hotspot data is included in some wireless network plans, but not all. If you’re not sure if hotspot data is included in your plan, please reach out to your wireless network carrier.
      • If you need help setting up a hotspot connection on your smart device, please reach out to the device manufacturer or your wireless network carrier for assistance.
  3. Confirm that your router is using a 2.4Ghz frequency and a WPA, WPA2 or WPA3 encryption type. Turn off fast roaming if your network has this feature enabled.
    • To check your frequency band and encryption type, you can review this information within your router's settings. If you need assistance finding this information, or need help changing it, please contact your internet service provider.
  4. Turn of fast roaming if your network has this feature enabled.
    • To check if your network uses fast roaming, you can review this information within your router's settings. If you need assistance finding this information, or need help changing it, please contact your internet service provider.

Additional information

Alarmo does not work on networks that require you to authenticate the internet connection, such as through a login page, to access it.
