Alarm won’t turn off when I leave sensor zone on Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo

Steps to resolve issues with the alarm not ending and instead continuing to sound after getting out of bed.

Before you start:

You will need:

  • Your Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo device.

You may need to move the clock or items within the sensor zone while troubleshooting.

Note: Confirm that you’re not within one hour of the set alarm time and still near the bed. If you go back to bed within an hour, the alarm will resume, so the clock may think you went back to bed.

What to do:

  1. Check the position of the clock.
    • Check that you have the most recent system update.
    • Confirm that the surface that the clock sits on is level.
    • Check that the clock is within 50cm of the edge of the bed.
      • Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo is intended to work with beds up to 200cm wide. Larger or non-standard size beds may cause the clock to not work as intended.
      • Alarmo is also intended to work best with one user. Additional people - or pets - in the bed may cause the clock to not work as intended.
      • Check that the clock is no higher than 20cm above the bed.
  2. Reconfigure the sensor zone.
    • Open the menu by pressing the dial (Confirm Button) once.
    • Turn the dial to find the Settings screen.
    • Press the Confirm Button.
    • Turn the dial to find the Sensor Zone screen.
    • Press the Confirm Button.
    • Follow the instructions to configure the clock's placement and update the sensor zone settings.
  3. Check the sensor zone for moving objects.
    • Open the menu by pressing the Confirm Button once.
    • Turn the dial to find the Help screen.
    • Press the Confirm Button.
    • Turn the dial to find the Sensor Zone Check screen.
    • Press the Confirm Button to start the check.
      • If the check finishes successfully, no moving objects were found in the sensor zone.
      • If the check does not finish successfully, a moving object was found in the sensor zone and is likely what’s preventing the alarm from functioning properly. Remove the moving object and run the check again.
  4. Test your alarm to confirm it’s functioning as expected.
    • We recommend that you set a new alarm in the near future to test that the alarm is functioning properly and then set it back to your preferred time after the test.

Situation Not Resolved:

If you’re unable to get the alarm to stop due to other objects in the sensor zone, you can consider using Button Mode rather than the sensor.

If there are no obstructions or other moving objects that are causing the issue but the alarm still won’t turn off when you get up, your clock will need to come in for service.
