Splatoon 3: Grand Festival Splatfest Kicks Off Soon With 72 Hours Of Non-stop Musical Performances

Thursday, 5. September 2024
Big Run event, amiibo figure release and more scheduled ahead of the Grand Festival.

The Grand Festival, the biggest Splatfest for Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch is just around the corner, starting on 13th September at 2:00 CEST and ending on 16th September at 01:59 CEST – featuring 72 hours full of festivities and music. To decide teams, players will vote the question "Which is the most important to you: Past, Present or Future?”.

They will also be in for performances by all three groups from the Splatoon series, Deep Cut, the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook. During the first part of the Splatfest, the three groups will rotate between three stages. And in the second part, they will put on a special performance of their newest single “Three Wishes” together. During both parts, players can press the directional buttons to express themselves whenever they feel like it with exclusive emotes.

During this Splatfest, 4-vs-2-vs-2 Tricolor Battles are available from the very start. For the first 48 hours, every previous Tricolor Battle stage will be in rotation, including Scorch Gorge, previously exclusive to the Legend of Zelda-themed Splatfest. The final 24 hours will see the rollout of the exclusive Tricolor Battle stage Grand Splatlands Bowl. If you can snag the Ultra Signal there, your team's supporters will arrive to cheer you on.

Ahead of the Grand Festival, Grizzco is in need of new employees for the next Big Run event as Salmonids are invading the Grand Splatlands Bowl from 7th to 9th September. To encourage everyone to protect the venue, fish scale rewards will be given out to everyone if players can collect a whopping 700,000,000 Golden Eggs worldwide during the event.

To get a snapshot to remember from the Grand Festival, everyone who ranks “Ruler” or higher in the Splatfest can take pictures with any of the three groups on the Giant Clam stage. In addition to the Deep Cut pose for players having received the “Ruler” title, players owning the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass and that title can also get Squid Sisters and Off the Hook poses. A brand-new pose will be unlocked for players who reach the title above “Ruler”. Additionally, the scaffolds for staff in front of the Giant Clam stage are rumoured to be a vantage point for photos.

Plus, two new sets of amiibo figures are released today, one featuring the Squid Sisters and one featuring Off the Hook as they appear in the Splatoon 3 story mode and the paid DLC, Side Order. They also come with their own special gear as well as the possibility to take photos with them when scanning the amiibo.

The colourful action shooter Splatoon 3 launched nearly two years ago, on 9th September 2022. In addition to the recurring Splatfest events featuring 4-vs-2-vs-2 Tricolor Battles, players can ink, swim and splat their way to the top in online and offline 4-vs-4 Turf War battles in the sun-scorched Splatlands, fend off swarms of Salmoids and waves of dangerous bosses in four-player co-op Salmon Run mode, and discover the mysteries of Alterna in the offline single-player campaign. Plus, the Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass features a new single-player experience that’s designed to be replayed over and over.
